Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has signed a new law that will allow an anti-abortion monument to be built near the state Capitol. Sanders' office said Friday night that the Republican governor signed the bill allowing the creation of a privately funded “monument to the unborn” on the Capitol grounds. The bill was approved by the majority-Republican Legislature last week. The monument will mark the number of abortions performed in Arkansas before Roe v. Wade was struck down last year. A near-total ban on abortion took effect in the state when the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the 1973 Roe decision.

With a number of the city’s major employers rebounding from pandemic slowdowns, or expanding, Holdrege is scrambling to add housing to accommodate the wave of newly-hired employees.

An anti-abortion monument would be built near Arkansas' Capitol under legislation on its way to the governor's desk. The House on Tuesday approved a bill that would allow a “monument to the unborn” on the Capitol grounds. The proposal requires the secretary of state to permit and arrange the placement of the monument. The proposal faced opposition from some anti-abortion Republicans who called the effort counterproductive. A near-total ban on abortions took effect in Arkansas with last year's court ruling.

Others, like Brendan Fraser, went for traditional black tuxedos. Sofia Carson, meanwhile, stunned in princess white, a custom Giambattista Valli ball gown with a form-fitting bodice and statement Chopard necklace of emeralds and diamonds. Monica Barbaro of “Top Gun: Maverick” fame, chose a two-tone Elie Saab ballgown in deep plumb and delicate blue chiffon.

In many old homes you’ ll often see a wall niche built into a wall as a focal point in a room as a showcase for a favorite piece of art or plant. The traditional design has a curved top with a recessed back, often a shell design, and a base shelf. The niche is custom-made of plaster or wood as an integral part of the wall.
