Cutting out the needy

The Republican-proposed budget was released by House Speaker Paul Ryan on Thursday. As expected, the losers are Medicare, Medicaid and the vast majority of Americans.

According to the Tax Policy Center, the recent Republican tax cuts sent more than 70 percent of its benefits to corporations and to the top 20 percent of households, those making more than $115,000 per year. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the Republican tax-cut bill will explode the annual national deficit to more than $1 trillion by 2020 (Note: Trump already has exploded the cumulative national debt to more than $21 trillion).

Of course, to pay for this handout to corporations and to the wealthiest Americans, Republicans want to make drastic cuts to Medicare ($537 billion), to Medicaid and other health care programs for the poor ($1.5 trillion) and to Social Security ($25 billion).

On Nov. 6, please vote in your own best interest and in that of your loved ones. Please vote Blue.
