I have been following Gov. Pete Ricketts’ recent actions concerning the press and designation of Nebraska as a gun sanctuary and I have a suggestion. Perhaps Attorney General Doug Peterson, on behalf of the governor, should lobby Washington to promote the Second Amendment to the first spot on the Bill of Rights, and demote the First Amendment to a lower position, maybe outside of the top 10.

We need to act before Iowa or South Dakota steals the spotlight.
