OMAHA — A pedestrian died after he was hit by a pickup truck that was involved in a two-vehicle crash in midtown Omaha.

Edgar G. Badillo, 44, of Omaha, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Monday afternoon crash.

Investigators determined that a 2000 Toyota Camry, driven by Jayden D. Johnston, 24, of Omaha, was eastbound on Leavenworth Street shortly before 1 p.m. when it ran a red light. The Toyota collided with a southbound 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Anastasia D. Grutsch, 29, of Omaha.

The pickup spun and rolled, striking Badillo, who was standing on the southeast corner of the intersection.
