HOLDREGE — With the approval of the Lincoln Place paving plans, items are falling into place for Holdrege’s newest housing subdivision.
At Tuesday night’s regular Holdrege City Council meeting, members approved a plan presented by Olsson Associates to pave Lincoln Place, which is on the northeast edge of Holdrege.
Paving should start next spring, and lots are for sale by the Holdrege Development Corp. Currently, plans call for the subdivision to include 12 town homes with association and services, eight single-family homes, and four lots for smaller town homes or duplexes. The sewer and water plans were approved last month, and work should begin this winter.
In other business, the council formalized the agreement for a joint city/county airport zoning board. The board has existed for many years, but neither the city nor the county could find the formal agreement.
The Nebraska Federal Aviation Administration has asked the Holdrege Airport Authority to increase its approaches from three miles to 10 miles so larger aircraft can do instrument landings, said City Attorney Rod Osborn.
