KEARNEY - Money doesn't come with instructions. That's what $martMoney Week provides.
The fifth-annual $martMoney Week started today in Kearney. Activities and events scheduled all week are provided free of charge.
The workshops and lectures are structured to help increase community awareness of personal financial management, small business ownership and entrepreneurship.
Mary Rittenhouse, director of the University of Nebraska at Kearney Center for Economic Education, said the activities and events are provided without promotion of individual products. The intent is to make participants better financial decision makers.
Tuesday's seminar schedule:
- "Debt Watchers": Empowering people to attack debt.
- "Managing Matters Part 1": Taking care of your money.
- "Dollars and Doughnuts": Minding your business, a woman entrepreneur presentation.
