From Kearney to needy kids worldwide: Operation Christmas Child

Martha Bitker unloads boxes of gifts from Countryside Christian Church at First Presbyterian Church Monday for the Operation Christmas Child program, a program in which gifts in shoeboxes are sent to children in needy areas of the world.
People can follow the boxes on the Web at www.samaritanspurse.org. The collection center in the church at 4511 Sixth Ave. will be open from 10 a.m. to noon until Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.
